Introduction

About Loki Render

Loki Render distributes the rendering of Blender 3D images (frames) across several computers, thus decreasing the overall time needed for rendering. This is commonly referred to as a "render farm", "distributed network rendering", or similar. Distributed rendering is particularly useful when many images need to be rendered (e.g. animation) or when we have a complex still image; we can break the image into several parts, render each part on a different computer in the farm, then re-assemble the parts into a final image (often called 'tile rendering', 'bucket rendering', etc.) Loki Render supports both frame and tile rendering. It uses Blender project files as input, and uses the Blender internal render engine or Yafray for output. Support for other inputs and render engines is hoped for in the future.

Loki Render is easy to install, and platform independent so you can use Windows, Linux, and Mac computers in your render farm!
